Say “YES” to the Sketch

First things first! Schedule a consultation.
Everything at KERIANNE MEEHAN NEW YORK
is custom and made for you. Our atlier works intimately
with each client. During your initial consultation, we will
work with you to review sketches, silhouettes, fabrications,
and any other necessary design element. Once you have decided
on the dress style, color, fabrication, size, and any other necessary
dress information, your order can be processed.

The Fittings

KERIANNE MEEHAN NEW YORK works with each client individually on sizing. We work in a series of fittings (averaging typically between 2-3) to ensure a perfect fit. We personally take measurements, as each custom gown is made for the uniqueness of every individual.

The First Fitting is the Canvas Fitting “The rough Draft” of the gown. The client tries on a mockup of the dress where the client is sculpted for the perfect fit and all design elements are perfected.

The Second Fitting – The client tries on the actual gown. Design details are discussed and adjustments are made.

The Third and Final Fitting – The gown is tried on for the last time before the big day. Everything is finalized and the gown is carefully steamed and packed to go home before its debut.

THE BEHIND THE SCENES

The Fittings

Each project is different with every element of the design process tailored to the client. It is an art.

KERIANNE MEEHAN NEW YORK brings each piece to life with handmade fabrics from all over the world. Each garment is handled with the highest level of care with meticulous attention to detail.

Each piece of wearable art can have hundreds of hours worth of hand work. It is all about fine quality and our finishes are held to a high standard. Due to the labor intensity of our pieces, we request orders be placed at least 6-9 months in advance from the date of the event. Anything sooner may incur an additional fee.

Some other important need to knows:

Since all dresses are made to order, a 60% non-refundable deposit is required before we can begin production.

If measurements are taken elsewhere, the client is responsible for those measurements and their accuracy. If you are unable to get measured by KERIANNE MEEHAN NEW YORK, a list of measurements can be provided that needs to be taken in order to determine the appropriate size. It is recommended to choose the larger size if you fall in between sizes; as dresses can only be taken in, not let out. If a client chooses to order a size that is not recommended, the client must sign off on that size. We are not responsible for a dress that does not fit after a client has signed off on the size. If a new dress is needed due to incorrect sizing, the client will be charged full price for the reorder.

Alterations associated to the design needed during the process are included in the original pricing. If additional alterations are required after the garment has been collected, the service will be charged as a separate project. Extensive design changes may be subject to a new contract.

Many variables go into the making of a custom piece. Each project is quoted individually on a case to case basis.
